I qualified from Southampton University Medical School in 1987.
After House Officer posts in the South West, I started my
Anaesthetic training at Torbay Hospital in 1989. I spent a year in
Wanganui, New Zealand on an ICM and Medical placement and
returned to the UK 1990 to start my Anaesthetic Registrar and
Senior Registrar rotations in the North West. I was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in 1996.
I have since worked as a substantive Consultant at Nobleβs
Hospital on the Isle of Man and am now a Consultant in Intensive
Care Medicine at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Apart from Intensive Care Medicine, my main interests are in
Paediatric and Regional Anaesthesia.
I am the chair of the Examinations Development and Assurance
Group (EDAG) and have been a Primary and Final FRCA examiner
since 2006.
