Dr. Faisal Shamim Aga Khan University, Karachi DAS-accredited Difficult Airway Workshop APICON 15 Dr. Faisal Shamim is an Associate Professor in Department of Anaesthesiology, Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, and a recognized leader in airway management with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience. He serves as an airway lead and organized Difficult Airway Society (DAS)– approved and verified airway management courses and workshops, including the first such programs in Pakistan and their expansion nationally. He has been awarded ‘Fellow of the Difficult Airway Society (FDAS)’ in 2025 for contributions to airway management, DAS and the specialty through education, research, clinical leadership and societal involvement Dr. Shamim has contributed to international airway research as Pakistan’s national lead for the intubateCOVID registry and is actively involved in global airway education through collaborations with DAS, EAMS, and other international societies.
